Description Pen and brown ink drawing on ecru wove paper with a "[]YNSON 1839" watermark. Image depicts a man in a belted tunic with puffed and slashed sleeves and a lace collar, a cape, a belt, gloves, boots, a sword and dagger, and a high plumed hat. The drawing is signed "Gabriel Rossetti fecit. July 3rd 1840" at the lower right and the caption "Rienzi, the Last of the Tribunes is written at the bottom.

Circular blind stamp in the lower right corner.

"From the collection of his brother WM Rosetti. See page 86 vol I Memoirs of DGR" is written in pencil script on the reverse.
